Ziro, nestled in the lush, mountainous terrains of Arunachal Pradesh, is witnessing accelerated development through state and central infrastructure projects—including roads, bridges, and rural electrification. Saroj Dhir Enterprises, owned by Mr. Saroj Dhir, plays a key role in supplying well-graded aggregates for these projects. Facing difficult terrain, inconsistent feed material, and unpredictable weather conditions, Mr. Dhir invested in Taurian’s Terratrak™ Inclined Screen—a rugged, mobile screening solution built to thrive in the toughest environments.

Geological Setting – The Hill Terrains of Ziro

Ziro’s geology consists of fractured and weathered sandstone, shale, and low-grade metamorphic rocks. The terrain is highly undulating, with steep inclines, frequent rainfall, and fluctuating moisture content in the material. Traditional fixed screening plants struggle under these conditions, and the demand for consistent aggregate gradation for road base, sub-base, and drainage layers remains high.

The Challenge

Saroj Dhir Enterprises previously used static screening setups that were ill-equipped to handle the remote, shifting nature of work sites in the Ziro valley. Equipment mobility was a constant issue, especially during monsoons. Screening efficiency dropped when feed material was moist or sticky, leading to oversize retention and inconsistent sizes. Manual cleaning and frequent media changes led to downtime and missed project targets.

The Solution

Taurian Terratrak™ Inclined Screen

To overcome these operational bottlenecks, Taurian deployed the Terratrak Inclined Screen—a mobile, high-efficiency screening solution engineered for flexibility and fast setup.

Key Features:

  • Mobile Crawler Design: Allows fast relocation across hilly and uneven terrain without the need for cranes or separate transport.

  • Adjustable Screen Angle & Vibration Stroke: Tailored for sticky or variable feed material, enhancing stratification and throughput.

  • Quick Setup: Ready to operate within minutes of reaching the site, thanks to plug-and-play hydraulic jacks and foldable conveyors.

  • Heavy-Duty Screen Box: Built to handle variable loads and reduce blinding or pegging, even with moist riverbed material.

Results & Impact

With the Terratrak Inclined Screen, Saroj Dhir Enterprises saw a 45% improvement in screening consistency and was able to meet exact size requirements for government roadwork contracts across Lower Subansiri district. Even during heavy rains, the screen’s adjustable stroke and efficient spray bar setup ensured clean separation and minimal clogging. With reduced labor dependency and higher uptime, the company has secured repeat contracts with state PWD and BRO (Border Roads Organisation), cementing its position as a dependable material supplier in northeast India.
