In the gateway town of Tanakpur, where Himalayan river aggregates feed the growing demand for construction materials in Uttarakhand and adjoining states, Surviksh Stone Crusher, led by Mr. Suraj Sharma, needed a solution that could deliver perfectly shaped aggregates and clean, IS-compliant sand. To achieve this, they invested in a Taurian CG250 Cone Crusher for secondary crushing and a TWS Cyclotwin 150 double hydrocyclone washing unit—a combination designed to maximize shaping efficiency and sand cleanliness in one integrated workflow.

Geological Setting – Riverbed & Hard Rock Mix of Tanakpur

Tanakpur’s material sources include both riverbed gravels and blasted hard rock from the lower Himalayan ranges. This creates a variable feed with mixed particle sizes and significant silt content. Producing cubical aggregates and clean plaster/concrete sand from such material demands precise crushing and advanced washing technology.

The Challenge

Before upgrading, Surviksh Stone Crusher faced:

  • Flaky and elongated aggregates from the old secondary stage.
  • High silt content in sand, leading to rejections from RMC plants.
  • Inconsistent gradation in both coarse and fine products.
  • Excess water use and fines loss due to outdated washing methods.

Mr. Sharma required a dual-solution system to handle shape correction in aggregates while delivering high-recovery, low-moisture washed sand.

The Solution

Taurian Secondary & Washing Setup comprising:

  • CG250 Cone Crusher – A robust bearing-type cone with hydraulic CSS adjustment, engineered for hard, abrasive material, and optimized for cubical shape output.
  • TWS Cyclotwin 150 Double Hydrocyclone Washing Unit – High-capacity twin cyclones for sharp fines separation, paired with an integrated dewatering screen to produce stackable sand.

Post-installation, Surviksh Stone Crusher achieved a 50% improvement in aggregate shape quality and delivered washed M-Sand and P-Sand with <5% silt content. The plant now consistently produces:

  • Cubical 20mm & 10mm aggregates for bituminous and concrete works.
  • Clean, dry sand meeting IS:383 and IS:1542 standards.
  • Reduced waste, with higher recovery of fines for saleable product.

The combination of CG250 and Cyclotwin 150 has allowed Mr. Sharma to expand his client base, fulfill high-spec government contracts, and strengthen Surviksh’s reputation for quality in the competitive Himalayan foothills market.
