The Role

The Engineer – OSP Fabrications will be responsible for overseeing and managing the fabrication activities of Outside Plant (OSP) infrastructure components through vendor partners. This role includes coordinating with fabrication vendors, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, evaluating supplier capabilities, and driving continuous improvement in quality, cost, and delivery. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in mechanical or structural engineering, vendor coordination experience, and a keen understanding of fabrication and assembly processes related to telecom infrastructure..

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with fabrication vendors for timely delivery of OSP components such as poles, brackets, mounts, and shelters.
  • Evaluate and develop new vendors based on quality standards, capacity, and compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to technical drawings, material specifications, and standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct regular vendor audits and inspections to monitor fabrication quality and process control.
  • Support cost analysis, negotiation, and optimization in vendor procurement processes.
  • Work closely with design, quality, and logistics teams to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Resolve technical issues during fabrication and suggest design or process improvements where needed.
  • Maintain documentation related to vendor approvals, inspection reports, and fabrication schedules.
  • Travel to vendor sites as required for inspections, audits, and project coordination.

 

Requirements

  • Education: Diploma or B.Tech in Mechanical, Structural, or Production Engineering.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in OSP or structural fabrication and vendor development.
  • Hands-on experience in interpreting fabrication drawings, BOMs, and welding/finishing standards.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication shop processes including cutting, welding, painting, and assembly.
  • Experience in telecom or infrastructure projects is preferred.
