The Role 

The Service Engineer – Electrical (EV) will be responsible for providing on-site and remote technical support for electric vehicle systems, including diagnosis, repair, commissioning, and preventive maintenance. This role focuses on ensuring optimal performance and uptime of EV components such as motors, controllers, battery management systems (BMS), and wiring harnesses. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in electrical systems, hands-on experience with EV components, and strong troubleshooting abilities. 

Responsibilities. 

  • Perform installation, commissioning, testing, and service of electrical systems in EV products. 
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to motors, inverters, batteries, BMS, and wiring systems. 
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and site audits to ensure long-term system performance. 
  • Coordinate with R&D and production teams for field feedback and technical improvements. 
  • Generate service reports, root cause analyses, and documentation for customer records. 
  • Train customer personnel and internal teams on safe handling and operation of EV systems. 
  • Provide remote technical support and on-site visits as required. 
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and electrical standards during service operations. 
  • Maintain inventory of service tools and critical spare parts. 
  • Travel extensively for field service calls, installations, and warranty support (approx. 15–20 days/month). 

 

Requirements 

  • Education:Diploma or B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related engineering discipline. 
  • Experience:Minimum 2–4 years of hands-on experience in servicing electrical systems, preferably in the EV industry. 
  • Working knowledge of EV powertrains, BMS, charging systems, and low-voltage/high-voltage electrical components. 
  • Skills:Strong fault diagnosis and technical problem-solving capabilities. 
  • Familiarity with multimeters, CAN analyzers, diagnostic tools, and test benches. 
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and circuit schematics. 
  • Good communication, documentation, and customer interaction skills. 
  • Willingness to travel and work in field conditions
