The Role

The TQM Manager will be responsible for driving Total Quality Management initiatives across the organization to foster a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction. This role involves developing quality systems, facilitating audits, implementing lean practices, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in quality frameworks, analytical thinking, and a proactive approach to institutionalizing best practices.

Responsibilities.

  • Lead and implement Total Quality Management (TQM) practices across departments.
  • Develop and maintain quality systems aligned with ISO, Six Sigma, and other industry standards.
  • Facilitate internal audits, quality assessments, and compliance checks.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives in processes, products, and services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and standardize SOPs and KPIs.
  • Conduct training programs to promote quality awareness and problem-solving techniques.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, root causes, and areas for performance improvement.
  • Monitor customer feedback and internal quality metrics to guide action plans.
  • Support deployment of Lean, Kaizen, and 5S across operations and support functions.
  • Prepare and present quality reports and improvement progress to senior management.

 

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Industrial Management (Postgraduate qualification or certifications in Quality Management preferred).
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 8–10 years of experience in Quality Management or Business Excellence roles.
  • Proven experience in implementing TQM, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Exposure to manufacturing, capital equipment, or project-based industries is preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Strong understanding of quality tools like FMEA, Pareto, 5 Why, Root Cause Analysis, etc.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, report generation, and use of quality management systems.
  • Certification in Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt) or ISO Auditor preferred.
  • Willingness to work across functions and visit sites/plants as needed.
